WORKSHOP TURKU - SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND

Welcome 12^th of August at 5pm to participate into a 3 hours contemporary dance workshop led by internationally known dancer/choreographers Avidan Ben giat (Jerusalem/Israel) and Maria Nurmela (Turku/Finland).

Ben giat and Nurmela are working this August at the Barker - theatres summer residency. During two weeks time in Turku they are creating a new contemporary dance work ‘School for the Blind’ premiering December 2019 at ‘the International Dance Week’ in Jerusalem, Israel. The project is co-produced by Machol Shalem Dance House Jerusalem, and supported by Barker - theatre, the Arts Printing House (Vilnius, Lithuania), Embassy of Finland in Tel Aviv and The Regional Dance Center of Western Finland.



In the 3 hour workshop Avidan and Maria will share their experiences as dancer/choreographers and open their creative process by teaching of repertory and improvisation tasks through the ideas from the upcoming piece ‘School for the Blind’.



The workshops will serve as a hotbed for experiments where our ideas and body can meet.
